About Me
I’m a brand and product marketer with a background in PR and athlete marketing, equally comfortable launching new products or leading a press tour. My career spans agency PR, startup brand building, and product strategy, giving me a 360° view of how to connect creativity with measurable growth.
My Career Journey
My first professional experience came at Conan O’Brien’s talk show, CONAN, where I worked as a talent intern and learned how creativity, timing, and storytelling come together to engage audiences. That early lesson — the power of story — has guided every step of my career since.
From there, I built a foundation in sports PR, supporting NFL, MLS, and PGA TOUR clients, managing Super Bowl media operations, and even working directly with champions like Tyson Fury.
In 2022, I joined Selkirk Sport as one of the company’s first five employees. Over the next three years, I helped scale it into a nine-figure brand, expanding the team from 5 to 175 employees. I built the PR and athlete marketing functions from scratch, led 30+ product launches, and partnered with Costco and Dick’s Sporting Goods to expand retail distribution. Along the way, I integrated AI-driven marketing strategies that helped Selkirk maintain a competitive edge as the sport exploded.
I’ve also competed professionally in pickleball, captaining an international team through Major League Pickleball Australia, giving me a first-hand perspective on athlete management from the other side of the court.
What I Bring
-
I began my career in sports PR, supporting NFL, MLS, PGA TOUR, and global athlete clients at agency level — everything from press credentialing and game-day media operations to building relationships with top outlets like the Wall Street Journal, ESPN, and Sports Illustrated.
At Selkirk Sport, I built the PR function from scratch, taking it from zero to a fully integrated department. That included hiring and managing an internal team, engaging an external PR agency, and developing a media strategy that landed consistent national coverage for both the brand and its athletes. I also oversaw crisis communications and managed press tours around major athlete signings and product launches.
-
Joining Selkirk as employee #5, I wasn’t just marketing the brand — I was shaping it. I worked closely with the R&D team to test and position dozens of products, from paddles and balls to nets and apparel. Each launch required building messaging, go-to-market strategy, and digital campaigns that spoke to both athletes and everyday players. Many of these products went on to become category leaders in a rapidly growing market.
Beyond product, I scaled the broader brand: leading partnerships with Costco and Dick’s Sporting Goods, building website landing pages, and driving digital campaigns that helped fuel 1900% revenue growth and a nine-figure valuation. Along the way, I integrated AI tools into our workflows and completed an AI marketing bootcamp with Palantir — helping us move faster, analyze smarter, and outpace competitors.
-
At Selkirk, I oversaw a multi-million dollar annual spend in athlete marketing — negotiating contracts, onboarding players, and ensuring alignment between athlete stories and brand growth. This meant everything from multi-year sponsorship deals with stars like Jack Sock, to scouting international talent through events like MLP Australia.
I managed both the business side (contracts, negotiations, crisis management) and the relationship side (brand integration, long-term partnerships, athlete content support). By balancing the two, I built one of the strongest athlete rosters in pickleball while expanding the sport’s global footprint.
The Human Side
Storytelling has always been at the heart of my career. From my early days behind the scenes at CONAN, to performing improv comedy, I’ve always sought out ways to connect with people and bring ideas to life.
In 2025, I delivered the commencement address for Chapman University’s School of Communication, speaking to thousands about growth, creativity, and communication.
Outside of work, I’m a dual citizen of New Zealand and the United States, a perspective that’s shaped my approach to global community, culture, and brand building — in both sport and business.
Let’s Connect
I’ve built my career by connecting with people — from athletes and media to startup teams and global partners. If my story resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s talk about how we can create something together.
